The tide pools at Point Loma are absolutely gorgeous. I drove down there just before sunset and as I arrived at the first crowded parking lot with dozens of people all milling about, I thought to myself, “there’s got to be a spot somewhere around here with less people.” So I drove a little further down the road and found an empty parking lot. Perfect. I got all of my gear out of the trunk of my car and made my way down to a spot just beyond the path where I had beautiful sweeping views of the cliffs and the tide pools. I think this is one of those spots I would love to go photograph again at some point. Even though I got some images that I am happy with, I still don’t think I did the beauty of this place justice. Still, it was early December when I took these images, and I was lucky enough to be there at a time when the tide pools were actually open at sunset.
