La Jolla is a great place for photography. There are usually too many people milling about for my taste but on this particular day it was really cold, which helped (it was still winter when I took these.) My favorite discovery was a little circular tide pool that I didn’t see until I walked out to the edge of a large rock outcropping and looked back at the coastline. The water was leaping in and swimming around in it so I took advantage of how much fun it was having and did my best to capture it with my camera. By the time I left after the sunset I was frozen cold and it was starting to rain.
I’m still not 100% happy with how these images came out. I’m not sure if it was the light or how hazy the clouds were or perhaps the white balance was a tad off or some other factor but I had a lot more difficulty color-correcting these than I usually do. But I could keep tweaking them forever and I don’t know if I’d even be happy with them. Sometimes, photos just don’t come out as good as you had hoped. Oh well — post and move on to the next ones. 🙂
